Google Star Droid app. Do Google plan to master the universe..?

by Bryan Adams 14 May 2009 at 08:18

After successfully mapping the earth, then zooming into the streets of the world, Google has now set its sights on conquering the universe by mapping the stars with its new Star Droid app.

There is ofcourse 'Sky Map' already available on the Android marketplace but none that go to the lengths of pin pointing your location via GPS and using the camera to scan the sky for a specific constellation or star that your phone is pointed at. This will enable you to quickly ans easily identify what you're gazing up at becasue the identified stars will be labelled on the app.

So if you've got a T-Mobile G1 or HTC Magic, get ready to impress the ladies like never before. It's rumoured that this app could be available on these phones in just over a week.

Whatever will they map next? What future useful Google mapping apps could help improve the quality of your life?

How about helping to identify what is different about your wife when she asks, "Notice anything different?" or "so, do you you like it?".

One quick update snap and 'Google Compare' could tell you, "Its new shoes" or "She's had her hair coloured - slighty darker".

Can you think of any other useful apps Google could help us with?
